Surf Camp Objectives:
This
program is essentially
the same surfing course I teach at the college level.
The
surf camp goal is to
get each student to reach a safe surfing level whereby each student has
an understanding of basic surfing techniques. I adjust the
teaching
methods accordingly but the end goal is the same....to get you surfing
at a level where it is safe for you to practice on your own. We can
rent
you the surfboards and wet suits from that point.

There
is no substitution
for decades of experienced surfing instruction. In
fact, it takes
at least 10 years to gain the experience necessary to be able to
actually
teach
surfing properly. The LA area online surfing school segment
is loaded
with imitators who are not qualified.
For
your personal
safety, watch out for online imitators with "surf school web sites"
that
are using online marketing to confuse the reality of this amazingly fun
sport. You definitely want to use someone who is totally experienced
and
has the professional equipment/professional experience to actuallyteach
you how to surf.
Surfing
is a very gnarly
ocean
sport and because of some newbies web site you might be
taking surfing
lessons from someone who just learned how to surf themselves.
I can
let you know via email or call if you have someone who might not be
County
permitted, insured or even qualified. An experienced surfing instructor
is really important to learn this sport properly the first time.
